Uniqueness and non-uniqueness in percolation theory

چکیده
This paper is an up-to-date introduction to the problem of uniqueness versus non-uniqueness of infinite clusters for percolation on Z d and, more generally, on transitive graphs. For iid percolation on Z, uniqueness of the infinite cluster is a classical result, while on certain other transitive graphs uniqueness may fail. Key properties of the graphs in this context turn out to be amenability and nonamenability. The same problem is considered for certain dependent percolation models – most prominently the Fortuin–Kasteleyn random-cluster model – and in situations where the standard connectivity notion is replaced by entanglement or rigidity. Socalled simultaneous uniqueness in couplings of percolation processes is also considered. Some of the main results are proved in detail, while for others the proofs are merely sketched, and for yet others they are omitted. Several open problems are discussed. Percolation beyond Z D , Many Questions and a Few Answers
A comprehensive study of percolation in a more general context than the usual Z d setting is proposed, with particular focus on Cayley graphs, almost transitive graphs, and planar graphs. Results concerning uniqueness of innnite clusters and inequalities for the critical value p c are given, and a simple planar example exhibiting uniqueness and non-uniqueness for diierent p > p c is analyzed. N...

We consider the uniqueness problem of algebroid functions on an angular domain. Several theorems are established to extend the uniqueness theory of meromorphic functions to algebroid functions.
متن کاملContinuum Percolation for Gaussian zeroes and Ginibre eigenvalues
We study continuum percolation on certain negatively dependent point processes on R. Specifically, we study the Ginibre ensemble and the planar Gaussian zero process, which are the two main natural models of translation invariant point processes on the plane exhibiting local repulsion. For the Ginibre ensemble, we establish the uniqueness of infinite cluster in the supercritical phase. For the ...
متن کاملO ct 2 00 4 BRANCHING PROCESSES , AND RANDOM - CLUSTER MEASURES ON TREES
Random-cluster measures on infinite regular trees are studied in conjunction with a general type of ‘boundary condition’, namely an equivalence relation on the set of infinite paths of the tree. The uniqueness and non-uniqueness of randomcluster measures are explored for certain classes of equivalence relations. In proving uniqueness, the following problem concerning branching processes is enco...
